Some people love to prank, and that's fine if you know who you are pranking, but when you don't know the person you are pranking it can be dangerous and even deadly. Many people do not think of the consequences of an innocent messy prank known as TP (toilet papering) someones house can do. Here are Top 3 reasons what you shoulg think about before you decide to prank someone you do not know.

Many people have been pranked every once in a while by having their house TP'd by teenagers. Usually around holidays like Halloween, Memorial Day, Fourth of July or even Graduation for seniors, and while this is an innocent prank it can cost someone their life. Many parents see no harm in their kids pranking people's houses because they fail to realize the consequences that may follow, and this is very troubling to me, because as a parent I always think of the consequences of my children's dumb actions. I wonder if something bad were to happen from such an innocent prank how the parent who condoned their child's behavior would feel. I'm guessing very angry and would want to see "justice" served in the event the #1 reason why you shouldn't TP someone's house would to occur. But How could someone seek "justice" for an action they allowed to happen?

  • #1 - Death - Yes, anyone can die from TP'ing someones house. While this may seem a bit extreme, it is very true. Take for example you are in bed and at about 1:00 a.m., you hear someone outside your house moving around, the first thought in your head is going to be someone is trying to break in, your second thought "where is my gun" , and your first action is going to be opening the door, while your second action is deadly, (opening fire). If a person feels a tiny bit of their life in danger, this will happen.
  • #2 - Illegal - Yes, while this is a prank, it is considered to be vandalism of someones property which in illegal if you get caught (and usually they get caught). Charges faced against you could be to pay a fine, community service, and 1 year on probation. (misdemeanor) It also depends of the severity of the vandalism , and the state's punishment against such stupid acts.
  • #3 - Smile, your on candid camera! Many people have home security in and around their house, this includes hidden cameras , while some teenagers are smarter than others to wear a mask, this is also a way for you to get caught. An alarm will sound off from any irregular movement, your face has appeared on camera, and while  the #1 reason will not apply to you, you better believe the #2 reason does at this point. Also just because you wear a mask does not mean you will not get caught, there are some very high security cameras out there , that are insanely genius. Don't think that someone may not own it from the type of house that they live in because many people want to feel so secure that they will do anything to help them sleep at night.

So there you have it. Top 3 reasons why you shouldn't TP someones house. Parents that condone this behavior, I strongly suggest you talk to your children about the consequences that can follow, because while it may be all in good fun, you wouldn't like if your child had to go through anyone of those top 3 reasons, and you wouldn't want it done to you.
